I’ve spent a good deal of time this morning listening to three long videos. Why would I do that? Because the Holy Spirit is at work and it’s incredibly obvious from listening to the calls – from places around the world as well – listening to calls to Bishop Callahan who has removed Fr. James Altman’s ability to be a priest except to his immediate family. Fr. Altman has been removed from the church he’s been serving for some time.
I am humbled by the voices, their prayers, and their faithfulness to Jesus and the Gospel. Something happened in America, that started in 2016, was reinforced in 2020, and has grown in strength and righteousness since January 20th, 2021. Truth. We had grown sleepy and our ears had became dull and so we didn’t hear what was on the wind. We’ve been awakened since 2016 and now have a greater, fuller understanding of what we’re up against.
While the enemy was at work in the world, it was also at work in the Church. We can see this in every denomination and non-denominational churches. Evil whispers in the ears; it twists the truth so that a lie sounds truer, nicer, gentler, more caring, more logical, more compassionate. The lies try to make us accept things that can’t possibly be right – every fiber of our being tells us that what the enemy promotes and applauds is the exact thing we must shrink from, must debunk, must fight against till the end of our breath.
The faithful have been praying, since 2016, for our country. Since 2020, more and more eyes and ears have been opened and more and more people are responding to the Holy Spirit and redoubling their prayers but also redoubling their work to fight against the lies and sleight of hand and smoke and mirrors we’ve been told is the ‘better way’. We have been shown where the enemy resides, where it does its work so thoroughly, and who the minions are that support the enemy. God is bringing into the light those things done in the dark; the Holy Spirit – in His role as teacher – is helping us understand and grow brave and speak out against that enemy and its minions and bring America back to those sterling ideas she was created to promote and nurture. Jesus modeled what our lives should be and part of that was chasing the money lenders (banks?), the merchants (corporations who are supported by China, perhaps?), the elite (we all understand that word) out of the temple because they were doing wrong.
I’ll share the link for the last (?) of the videos and if you have the time and the inclination, you’ll listen to the faithful standing for truth. The truth of Jesus, the truth of the Gospel, the truth of the Bible. Some of the messages bring tears to my eyes, they are that moving. We’ve seen truth – we know Jesus – and now that we have been reminded how wonderful the truth is, I don’t know how it can be stopped – not when the faithful make a stand. This is the time. We are the people. Please God give us strength to be equal to the test. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
